Sky Inside UK is the only UK validated supplier of circadian lighting products for the NHS. Our systems improve patient well-being and help with patient recovery time by providing relaxing, calming, and enjoyable environments, and help to improve sleep patterns. Through working extensively on researching the human circadian cycle, we collaborated with some of the best neuroscience departments to develop Circadian Regulating Programming™ for our products. These lighting solutions reflect the day’s true cycle throughout the day. This can be adjusted for each patient to reset their body’s natural rhythm and aid in recovery time. Our patent-pending technology is particularly beneficial for patients who need long-term care after a procedure during recovery. Additional products available in our line include virtual skylights, windows, interactive games, and imitation fish tanks aimed at hospitals, care homes, dental surgeries, MRI scanning rooms, commercial buildings, specialist transport and much more. These installations help to reduce anxiety in high-stress environments. With our products being medically classified, Sky Inside can offer VAT-exempt medical classified product ranges to customers. We also do additional work with several charities to help maximise the use of hard-raised funding
Sky Inside is deeply committed to both elevating indoor spaces and protecting our precious outdoor environment. Our mission to bring the beauty of the natural world to areas lacking access to natural light is driven by a profound love for nature. To honour this commitment, we drive sustainability in maintaining a low carbon footprint. A key part of our eco-friendly approach is manufacturing our products here in the UK. By doing so, we not only support our local economy but also significantly reduce the environmental impact of our product delivery to UK clients. Our dedication extends to the heart of our products, designed with energy efficiency in mind, by using low-energy systems. In our unwavering commitment to the environment, we actively engage in reforestation projects by planting trees and supporting biodiversity with bee bombs. Sky Inside is persistent in exploring innovative avenues to reduce our carbon footprint.
Married with three grown-up children and a proud grandfather of two, Allan started his career in the Merchant Navy. He was there for 13 years and became the youngest serving 2nd engineer. A Falkland veteran, he came shoreside to work in commercial engineering companies across various industries before settling into working in the healthcare sector for various contracting companies. Having suffered from an initial cardiovascular incident in 2008 and spending time in CCU, Allan concluded that patients needed something to focus on, something that brightened the austere surroundings and, most importantly, helped with recovery after procedures and treatments. With this in mind and after speaking with clinicians about what they thought helped patients recover, he launched Sky Inside UK Ltd. Over 80 trusts in the UK now recognise the company as the medically validated product to increase well-being and reduce stress and anxiety in healthcare and other settings. Allan is proud to be working with neurosciences, critical care and mental health in developing “real” patient improvement systems that have proven medical benefits.
